The work is never finished; it exists in the gaze of the one who confronts it.

history

"Writing becomes a space to feel and observe, to capture what slips between the words. Art, literature, and experiences intertwine to claim my space and better understand the world. Paris, Miami, the places and lives that intersect nourish this fluidity. Words then become the terrain where my memories meet and where I can speak to others."

At a time when minority rights are faltering and memory is being rewritten, Benjamin Locreille wrote in a state of urgency. A minority to his very core, Felix Gonzalez-Torres shook up contemporary art by introducing love, loss, and fragility into it.

My Background

Your senses are at the heart of every experience I create.

He asked that we tell the story. That we say he had enjoyed it. That we say they had watched the beavers for hours, still, perched on a rock, facing a vast lake. That we remember the red canoe, the bears, the statues in Paris’s Tuileries Garden. The little cars they loved so much. The beach in Ischia. The coral reef in Icacos. Trains that were always too early.
